The ombudsman for businesses

The Vienna Business Agency has provided an ombudsman for the solution of urgent problems concerning daily business life. The ombudsman usually supports Viennese businesses in problems with official agencies and authorities.

With their numerous contacts to all economic relevant authorities and positions in the city, the Business Agency experts are often able to help in clarifying muddled situations and/or rapidly supplying missing information as well as to lead businesses directly to the correct place where the problem can be solved.

The Business Agency ombudsman can also be engaged in cases where tensions have arisen between the economic interests of businesses and other interests.

In order to avoid false misconceptions it must, however, also be pointed out that the Ombudsman is not in a position to make or waive binding decisions (enforcement of judgements, decisions …).

The task of the ombudsman is rather to deal with problems and, when possible, to find a positive solution for the business person through crisis and project management in cases of complaint and problematic issues. Please note that a business-related restructuring management (e.g. due to turnover losses) is not included in the area of responsibility of the ombudsman.
